What AI Marketing Tools Actually Cost (per useful output)
The Monkey Team·April 2, 2026·6 min
TL;DR
Sticker price means nothing. We measured cost-per-output-you-actually-ship across 8 tools. Some 'cheap' tools were 6x more expensive than premium ones in practice.
Methodology
We generated 50 outputs in each tool across ads, email, and blogs. We counted only the ones a senior copywriter said were "ship-able as-is or with a 10-min edit."
The results
| Tool | Monthly | Generations | Usable | Cost / keeper |
|------|---------|-------------|--------|---------------|
| Monkey in the Middle (Pro) | $29 | 500 | 71% | $0.08 |
| Jasper | $49 | 50k words | 64% | $0.41 |
| Copy.ai (Pro) | $49 | unlimited* | 41% | $0.62 |
| Anyword (Data-Driven) | $99 | unlimited | 58% | $0.71 |
| Writesonic (Standard) | $19 | 100 | 38% | $0.50 |
*"Unlimited" tiers fair-use at ~150/mo in practice.
Why we win on cost-per-keeper
One reason: our default model is the fastest, cheapest, highest-quality tier on the Lovable AI Gateway, and we don't markup tokens.
